Born in Erattayar, Idukki District, Kerala on 25th May 1970, Graduation in Botany from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala (1987-1990); Post graduation in Environmental Studies from School of Environmental Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology (1990-1993); Ph.D. in Environmental Biotechnology on the thesis entitled “Algae in Industrial Effluent Treatment” from Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kerala (1998).
