Admission Procedure

National Centre for Aquatic Animal Health, School of Environmental Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology offers an M.Tech. programme in Marine Biotechnology sponsored by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India under the National Network Programme in Human Resource Development in Biotechnology.. Mode of selection will be through Combined Entrance Examination conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) every year. Total intake to the course is 8 and the selected candidates will be getting a stipend of Rs. 8000/- per month. Candidates from the State of Kerala can appear for the entrance test at Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram.

The admission to the year 2015-2016 will be announced shortly and notification and prospectus will appear in this web site as well as on the websites of JNU (www.jnu.ac.in). Also the same will be published in leading news papers.

Who Can Apply?

Students with minimum 60% Marks or equivalent CGPA in any one of the following courses from any recognized Indian or Foreign University.  Only those candidates who have passed the qualifying examination in 2013 or thereafter including those who are appearing in 2015 are eligible to apply.

  1. B. Tech/ B.E in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Industrial Biotechnology, Leather Biotechnology, Chemistry/Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, B.Pharma, Chemical Technology;
  2. M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Marine Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Botany/Zoology/Biochemistry, Microbiology/Genetics, Biophysics, Microbial Genetics and Bioinformatics, Marine Biology/Aquatic Biology and Fisheries/Environmental Biotechnology/Mariculture
