Establishment of New Centre
A new Centre named Centre for Fish Disease Diagnosis and Management was conceptualized and established in the University on 18th January 2000 and officiated as Coordinator. In 2006, the Centre was re - designated as National Centre for Aquatic Animal Health.

Introduction of a new M.Tech Programme (DBT, Govt. of India Sponsored)
Considering the achievements of the Centre, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India sanctioned an M.Tech. programme in Marine Biotechnology. In support of the programme University Grants Commission sanctioned two Faculty positions at the level of Assistant Professors.
